The range of 3x is crazy but most of it is too low for practical use in my experience. Swapped to 1x and never looked back.

Depends on your local roads and trails. I have my RH in 1×7 but I don’t ride the hills on it. Strictly a townie.

Yeah this is how I feel. I got one 3x bike, mainly coz it’s made of the parts I had but main bikes are 1x, and I prefer it. Even use the bike I use mainly for roads as 1x now
At 1×12, I think you don’t really compromise much as most of the range you ride on road bike cassettes or 8 or 9 speed, you’re looking at 2t gaps between gears, and that’s where you sit most of the time if you go 1×12 anyway
The 3x bike will be going 1x when I have some spare funds, or there’s a sale on aliexpress

I don’t think I ever shift out of my middle ring and I think the 1x looks so much nicer, but i can’t be bothered to drop money on a technical downgrade haha

Looks clean w/ the 1x! If the chain line is good, you may even have some room to put a lower width square taper BB in there.

1x is only better if you go 11/12 speed large range cassette. Otherwise it’s just silly.
