I have the opportunity to purchase a new bike and my budget is 1000 cad, there is a 2018 Gt sensor elite for 1000 and a 2016 giant trance 2 for 900. I’m currently riding a xc and I want to upgrade to a trail bike, what would be the best option?

I have a GT Sensor Team that’s about the same age and I love it.
At that point 2016 is quite old. Id go for the newer geometry. It started in 2017-2018 to be more modern
