Hello all, I’m a newcomer here but wanted to show off my new Bianchi and maybe get some insight about it. I paid €250 and was told it is a 1974. Condition is well loved and I’m hoping to give it just a little TLC and ride the wheels off of it. I used to ride/race on carbon and mess around on my dad’s steel Giant as a teen, and this brings back all the great memories.
I’ve already replaced the brake pads with some generic cheapies, was thinking about throwing some campy side pulls on there for ease of use (keeping originals of course). It has 27” wheels and the tires look pretty good but the tubes are mismatched and a little dubious so I’ll replace those. Looking at a period correct-ish white or black saddle with a longer seat tube. Hoping I can find some newer hoods that fit the levers too. Lastly, going to give it to a shop to do cables, inspect the headset and hubs, and give it a general once-over.
