I saw someone selling this 2017 Specialized S-Works Tarmac for CAD $2500.
I can’t find that all matt black color for the 2017 model, not sure if this bike is actually 2017 or older.
Is this still a good purchase for 2024? Anything I should pay attention to?

I don’t know specifically about this make and model but if you can’t find the correct colour anywhere it implies 2 possibilities to me, either it’s a non genuine frame or it’s been refinished, which throws up the question was it done because it was damaged at some time.
I can’t help you with the year/paint question, but if it’s real and not stolen, it not just a good bike—in its day, it may have been a great bike. The Tarmac is a seriously aggressive race bike, and the S-Works frames are laid up to reduce weight and increase stiffness. DuraAce is the pinnacle of Shimano’s lines, and it has been shifting flawlessly for 4 decades. Enve wheels are also caviar level equipment—4 or 5 teams rode them in this year’s TDF. That said, you also have to consider a few things that might be considered negatives. Mechanical shifting is perfectly functional, but di2 has won over a lot of converts who claim they will never go back. Rim brakes on carbon wheels are somewhat problematic, in that you have to run special (read: more costly) brake pads, and in wet weather you might as well start lining up which landscape feature you want to crash into to slow down, since your brakes won’t work anymore. The frame configuration for the Tarmac may have changed in the last 7 years, but this frame is still great, as long as its integrity hasn’t been compromised, a factor you may not be able to discern without an x-ray machine. If I was in the market, and this bike size fit me as a rider, it would get my attention for sure. Will you be happy on it? Depends on what kind of rider you are, but if you have the ability to ride this bike, it will ride very well. A few years ago, new bikes of this level were selling for well north of 10 grand US. If you can talk the seller down a little on price, so much the better, but I’d pay $2,500CAD and be happy.
