Hey guys, it looks like my chain is rubbing on the sprockets on my rear cassete. Is this normal. I'm thinking it maybe needs some indexing. I also suspect my chain is fake, any advice I'd appreciate, thank you.

When you say it “looks like it’s rubbing”, are you basing that off of the grease on your cogs, or do you hear/see rubbing while you’re pedaling?
If the chain is rubbing, it should be making itself known. You’ll get scraping and clicking sounds while you pedal. If you do get noisy pedaling, then yes, try reindexing your rear derailleur.
If the bike pedals smoothly and quietly, then the chain isn’t rubbing.
The grease marks may just come from when you shift – the chain *will* be rubbing for part of a cassette rotation until it finds the next shift ramp that it will use to climb onto the next cog. Nothing you can do about that except to not shift at all. That said, if you want to decrease the grease marks, try switching to a quality dry or wax-based lube and apply it carefully to the inner rollers and links rather than slathering it all over the chain.

Your chain is fake if you bought it for a good price from an unknown source.
