Today I took advantage of a free offer of a bike check and tubeless upgrade at the excellent Alpkit store here in Edinburgh. Mr Blue Sky (cos the bike is ‘Sky Blue’) is now tubeless.
After a run of freak punctures and pinch flats I burned through a bunch of tubes. I’m hoping that deflated feeling is a thing of the past…
So far so good. I swapped out the Goodyear tan walls for a pair of WTB Nanos as I’ve been riding some rougher trails lately and like a bit more confidence

I got more flats with tubeless. I went back to tubes.
I love my nanos. They’re faster on tarmac than I was expecting
It was a great update for me. Just remember to add a bit of sealant every 3-6 months depending on tires and usage and your climate.
Always take a tube with you just in case and some dynaplugs or other kit. Been riding tubeless for 15 years on my mtb. Got a gravel bike recently that came with tubes and switched to tubeless immediately.
