Some say the west side is the best side, and I would easily agree. After days of intense riding, some fast, flowing trails were welcome. We did have good weather, and I would assume these trails are much more challenging in the wet, but good for us! The sun-kissed hills of Ponta do Pargo and Prazeres make this area magical and completely different from what we experienced in the last couple of days. At the finish of the day, we were camping near Calheta’s sand beach to have a good night’s sleep for the final day of the Trans Madeira race.
