Cannot for the life of me figure out what to call this. I tried googling “ball end brake cable” and “vintage brake cable” to no avail. This came with the brakes on my 2018 Cinelli Tipo Pista and need to replace them…
Thanks in advance!

thats no moon
Search for bicycle cable cherries. They make some you can add to a plain cable end
Jfc I’m getting old. Are we calling 2018 “vintage” now?
Couldn’t you just fit a standard brake cable?
Would a universal MTB brake cable fit? They’re a flat disc end similar to that.
Can you post a picture of the brake lever this is installed in? I suspect a normal road brake cable would work, but without knowing what the brake lever is, it’s tough to say.
Looks like a Lampa cable.
“Universal stainless steel front brake cable (spherical end) for bicycle Lampa”
I doubt it’s the correct cable to use. Would be best to post a photo of the brake lever and we can tell you what cable you actually need.

Pro move is use Vision brake cables: [https://shop.visiontechusa.com/en/accessories/triathlon-time-trial/brake-inner-cable](https://shop.visiontechusa.com/en/accessories/triathlon-time-trial/brake-inner-cable) [https://www.jbi.bike/site/product_details.php?part_number=14381](https://www.jbi.bike/site/product_details.php?part_number=14381)
They’re basically a shift head on a brake cable. They tuck in neatly in these applications.
Newb move is use anything else.
People love pointing out that a regular road cable will work while not pointing out that it looks stupid.
You can use a regular road brake cable. They just used a ball end cable for cosmetic reasons. It sits flush on the lever.
