cycling 170 KM (from THE HAGUE to RENESSE & back)

bikepacking trip from the hague to renesse (zeeland).

my wife and i cycled from the hague to renesse after buying new gravel bikes.
merida silex 400 for me and a cube nuroad for wife, both with a grx 400 groupset.

although not much gravel, still a great enjoyable ride from the hague to schiedam and from hellevoetsluis towards renesse. we cycled about 85 km (about 53 miles) on saturday, and 85 km back on sunday.

stayed overnight at a camping nearby scharendijke, which is close to renesse.
for drinks we visited ‘schattig.’ in schiedam which had surprisingly good drinks and the cinnamon bun is kinda amazing.
on the way back we stopped at ‘de waag’ in hellevoetsluis, the service was really terrible but the french toasts were surprisingly good, the eggplant dish not so.

in general expected a little nicer scenery towards zeeland, which was not the case, but could also be that we didn’t explore too much after renesse.
