Got a glass shard puncture on the rear tyre today on a newish pair of gp5000s (only 500km). I've replaced the tube and added a patch (boot) on the inside of the tyre. There is a very small bulge, not really visible but you can feel it just from the edge of the cut. Is this safe to ride / will it last? Shame to toss a relatively new tyre – it's on the rear if that makes a difference.

I read a while back that you can pump the tire up more than normal for the gap to spread n put glue in the hole, then deflated the tire so it seals.

Now I’m not saying for sure it is a great idea, but I did it with new tyres and they are now about replacement age.

My 5000+ kms old GP5000 is full of these minor gashes. It’s on the contact patch and not on the side walls. This is nothing to worry about. Keep riding.
