I live in North Yorkshire so it’s an awesome place for mountain biking.
I’m looking at getting a hard tail to use locally. I’m looking at getting a hard tail as it’s better for my budget but I’m not sure if I should get an XC bike or a trail/enduro bike. At the moment I’m stuck between a specialized chisel comp 29 on sale for £1,350 and a Merida Big trail 500 for under £1,000 on sale! I like the idea of a cross country bike because it’s fast but I worry I’ll wish I went for a fork with more travel and better geo for going downhill. I also like to ride to the trails/routes so I’m also factoring in that I’ll use the bike on the road at times too! Appreciate any advice! Thanks
