Hi guys, been trying to prepare for my ireland to italy trip next year and im at that stage where im buying gear for my gravel bike. Ive decided to go for a the traditional pannier set up but im not sure if this rack is worth it as im fairly new to the scene.
Ive bought a pannier rack from decathlon but im planning to return it as they didnt provide the tools to install it (i didnt want to go spend more money on tools because of tight budget). So ive just resorted to looking online.
Found this pannier rack on amazon, looks nice, is cheaper, comes with tools, but im not sure if its worth it. Ive posted some of the desceiption in the second slide if youre curious
Would like to hear any feedback and recommendations from anyone who owns this specific rack or who just has better knowledge in these things.

I have a rack that looks almost exactly like this. The clamp on the seatpost is loose, had to put a piece of innertube around the post. So many nuts and bolts! It is always moving around, and I don’t put much weight on it. Would not recommend.

Have the same one. Yes, lots of screws, so make sure to tighten them up occasionally. But works fine for me on my multiday trips with lots of stuff!
The lower rail is too high for most panniers. Needs to be taller
What tools are required for the rack you already have? If it’s only Allen keys, it’s a good idea to carry a bicycle multi-tool in your repair kit while touring, and that should suffice for installation.
Regarding the rack you show: I probably wouldn’t, if only because the seat post mount would be weaker and less stable than a two-point mount on the seat stays (assuming your bike allows for that).
