I had to post this after reading many posts of walkers not giving way to riders on MTB trails only.
I don't think this trail was MTB only..but look at what the walkers do when Andy the rider approaches…not only did they move to the side…they waved WHITE flags!
I follow this guy on YT, he's from Korea and they have awesome trails over there.

Tbh the conventional yield rules just make no sense to me.
Hikers ought to yield to everyone because stopping and moving off the trail is completely trivial, whereas a cyclist has to brake, stop, then restart…going uphill or downhill this is a hassle. For that matter how is an MTB supposed to yield to hikers going the same direction ? Nobody really does this, we just pass em and move on, because that’s what’s natural to both parties.
MTB ought to yield to horses, but mainly because horses are easily startled, unpredictable and if a rider is thrown off, can cause serious injury. The real rule ought to be for everyone to approach horse riders with a greeting, stop, and ask what they want to do. Where I live they are very appreciative and just wave for me to ride through.
I’ve hiked in Korea near Chongju, the hills are all so steep and dry even in winter! The whole time I was thinking about MTB ha ha 😁
I mostly slow down a lot or stop for hikers and other bikers. Talk to people and have a good time. Not everything in life has to be a contest.
There was an impressive number of walkers on the trail I was on today. I just can’t figure out what they were going to do with the rock gardens and drops, but that’s none of my business.
