Saw a sad and forlorn Stooge Mk2 in a local shop. I picked it up, it was mindblowingly light, I sat on it and turned the pedals and all reasons not to buy it disappeared. Stripped of components it is now with the powder-coaters, I set to work renewing the wheels… and apart from the addition of sealant and bearing replacement (expected) I found the Hope Trials / SS hub has cracks all over the drive side flange. Too late to turn back now, the expensive rescue mutt has just got more expensiver. The plan is to turn it into a bike that can be raced at 12hour or longer races. Should have it finished in a couple of weeks, as long as fate can supply the correct replacement hubshell.
