I recently bought a Trek Roscoe 7 and I’m not sure if there should be something on my crankset to cover up the bearing because they are almost in the open. Do I need to buy something, do I just leave it, or is that how it’s meant to be?

The bearings themselves have seals.
its a square taper bottom bracket, the whole bottom bracket is sealed so it doesnt need a cover
A cover would likely trap moisture in there and kill the bearings quicker than no cover.
I wouldn’t know, my parents had mine removed when I was an infant
