Just ride on by with a wide berth. Where were you at? I’ve seen more in Colorado this year than when I rode daily in the desert in AZ

I stop for snakes too but we only have harmless Garter snakes. I always move them off the trail so they don’t get run over.
There have been two instances where ive had to bunny hop a snake on a road ride
One was a rattler and now I dont do that because i scan for them now
I would’ve peed my pants. I HATE snakes
Did you try talking to it? How do you know you are not a parselmouth? You should give it a shot next time, maybe this snake was your friend!
