Hello there.
I am just a noob trying to help my mom relive her glory days as a bike mechanic- she lost cognition and the ability to walk. She found this trek which was missing a rear derailleur. As you can see she has a box of em but we have no idea how to know which one will work for this 21 speed bike. Any help/knowledge is appreciated!

It depends on the shifter! Of the bunch, AceraX is probably where I’d start unless the shifters were SRAM, Suntour Accushift, or any other number of incompatibile shifters the bike coulr have.
