I’ve done some research about Marinoni, but I can’t seem to find the year this bike would have been manufactured. Assuming it’s 1990 or earlier based on the gear shift. Are there any key identifiers I can look for?
Very new to cycling, this will be my first road bike/ first bike in 15 years.

Kind of looks like a ’77-79 special
Serial number should be on the underside of the BB usually closer to the chainstays and in fairly small numbers. Marinoni is really good about retaining information on their frames. Email them.

You’ve lucked out, Marinoni is a rather well respected Canadian bike brand made by hand from an old Italian Canadian family. I’d grab your father in law a couple beers at least as payment. It visually seems fine but since this is your first road bike take it to your LBS to get it checked. Some minor tlc should bring it back to life. Otherwise I agree with the top poster, check the serial and email them.

The bike is for a fairly tall rider. In the over 6 foot tall area. I hope it fits, but if not, don’t get too emotionally attached because riding a bike the wrong size isn’t worth it.
