I have watched the tour for decades, since the 80s (and even the 70s, I had an Eddy Merckx bike), sometimes seeing it in person and always on tv. Call me old, but it can get repetitive sometimes. While there’s the ITV4 standard coverage, or Sky, that’s OK, the seasoned gent also watches Lance, George, and Wiggo for the extra spicy stuff. Thanks all! 😂
I love Lance Armstrong. I see people asking just how good was he as a rider. I'm from Texas and I forget the exact year but somewhere around 87 -88, I remember watching this "kid" simply ride away from a cat 1-2 field in a crit. with no team, no attack, the field simply couldn't stay with him. I think he lapped the field. I was relatively new to cycling but was a skinny fit 22 y/o and was a good cat. 4 at best who was just happy to still be with the lead group at the finish of any race. So, i couldn't fathom the physical ability/talent to do what he did that day. Anyway, love him or hate him, he's one of the greatest athletes ever!
