Got my bike back from the shop recently because I needed a bottom bracket swap and a new crankset install. I got the bike back with everything installed but the chain length stayed the same it seems and now my axle is basically as far back as it can be in the dropout. I feel like this is almost too sketchy to ride but wondering why the shop wouldn’t adjust the chain. Should I pop a link out or do you think this will be ok?

yeah… pop out a link dude, my mind will not be clear if i knew this was a problem in my backwheel
I think it’s fine the way it is, but the chain will never get tighter, only looser. It might be a good idea to pop out a link now but I think it can wait. It’s up to you.
what would be the rule of thumb? nut 100% on drop?
Fine from a safety perspective, but looks a bit silly. Lose a link.
Depends on your frame clearance if you can pop out a link. With regular chains you take out 2 links at a time so your wheel might come up against the seat tube.
If the chain is new I’d try and shorten it to prevent slack when it inevitably stretches though
I’d ride it. But that’s not saying much 😂
The Izumi V half link will fix this and give you a nice easy way to remove and clean your chain
Is that master link missing a retainer? Yes that’s unsafe.
I would leave it like that. If your wheel is slipping, it’s slipping forward and you will notice on time. If that happens I would take out a link!
