My chain dropped and even though the chainsucker avoided the worst there's still some damage on the paint. Before I reapply the chainsucker plate, should I put some epoxy or sand it to smooth the surface?
Skateboard grip tape over that existing clear patch (or remove that first if you’re feeling zesty). It’ll look intentional and will also protect the frame should you do it again.

You can also get a new plate from Canyon so you don’t have to re-use the beat-up one.

I’ve accepted that this area of the bike will almost always have a chain drop scar. It’s just a matter of time, even if your derailer is set up perfectly.
But as someone else said, nail polish should do the trick. It might take a bunch of applications to build up the thickness. Just put a drop in the middle, don’t brush over the existing paint.
