    makes electricity to barely power a very dim headlight bulb, and feels like you are dragging a cinder block when rubbing against the tire

  2. It is a dynamo generator. The knurled head spins when it is against the tire’s sidewall. Inside the housing there are spinning magnets and coils of copper wire. The spinning induces an electric current. The current powers a light. Old tech, but very reliable.

    Yeah had ine of these in high school on my 10 speed.Granted it was late seventies and yeah , I hated activating it because it would really drag

  4. that sure takes me back. I remembers seeing some come into the repair shop that had been ignored and wore out the tire “what it that rubbing sound?”
