  1. Hi fellow Folders!

My first month report of new Brompton life, commuting on my new Brompton x Bremont x Cheaney limited special 🇬🇧 British maker collaboration edition posted earlier here ([https://www.reddit.com/r/Brompton/comments/1dt4yoj/newly_in_the_fold_w_bxbxc_limited/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Brompton/comments/1dt4yoj/newly_in_the_fold_w_bxbxc_limited/)), while adding on and changing, customizing, aka ‘modding’ my ride.

Emphasizing on the 🇬🇧 British marker theme, and after some long thinking, I obtained the 🇬🇧 Carradice Originals City Folder front bag in Green With Flag 🇬🇧. It suits the overall theme well, importantly fits my 16 inch MacBook Pro nicely and safely floating, and also plenty of room for all that was inside my EDC backpack, and more. No need to carry my heavy backpack on my sweaty back now. Love it! Making it front-heavy also made the overall ride feel much grounded and stable, and not as twitchy as I initially felt without a front bag. Together with the H&H Unibody CNC Front Carrier Block v2, ALL Great additions! (Pictures here)

Continuing with the 🇬🇧 British marker theme and to match my saddle, and after some deep thinking and lots of shared information here on r/Brompton (Thanks everyone!), in place of the original Superlight Lock-On Grips – 130mm, I replaced it with Brooks England 🇬🇧 Ergonomic Rubber Grips 100mm/100mm. This is paired with SQlab 🇩🇪 Innerbarends 411 2.0 which somewhat matches the origins of the color Brunswick green 🇩🇪. It’s been only a week since I have installed these handlebar elements on my M-handle, yet I sure feel the ease of pressure on my wrist, and extra gripping option surely comes in handy already, while also very minimal lateral hand moving on the grip. Love these ‘mods’!

And for the installation of the Brooks England Ergonomic Rubber Grips 100mm/100mm and SQlab Innerbarends 411 2.0 on my M-handle, here is how it went. After gathering information here and all over the web, my aim was 1: No cutting the grips, 2: must fit my hands and handlebar, 3: does not interfere with the folding. With this in mind and proper tools including my first ever torque wrench, I went at it. Starting from the right side, removed Superlight Lock-On Grips, slid in Innerbarend, slid in Brooks grip. With the Brooks grip at 100mm, there was about 5mm gap between the brake/shifter camp which I moved closer to eliminate this gap. Did a light tightening and folded the handlebar to check for any interference. Turns out, the Innerbarend was hitting the inside of the front rim. I unscrewed the nipple of the Handle bar catch a bit to gain space and clearance, and also adjusted the angle of the Innerbarend  a little so it was not hitting the rim anymore. Continuing with the left side, which resulted in Innerbarend hitting the front rim’s side where the brake pad grabs. A little more adjustments here and there, and touching of the Innerbarend to the rim was eliminated, at last. Phew… However, the margin is quite tight, and needs careful adjustments and patience.

    So far, Happy got Happier!!!

Next ideas, improve the fold-rolling experience with better wheels, titanium seat post, perhaps?

BTW, any suggestions for naming my Brompton?

Thanks again for everyone sharing their Brompton information here on r/Brompton !!!

Hopefully my experience I’ve shared here will inspire others.
