Any idea what’s going on here?? New derailleur install attempt.

More context: I swapped out the same stock derailleur after my other one got mangled due to my chain wrapping around the back of my cassette. The cog is rubbing up against the cassette in lower gears. Something is wrong and i cna’t figure it out. Any help would be much appreciated!

picture may be at a weird angle but the chain looks short. is it possible you had a shorter cage derailleur last time?
