My wife and I started our first bike trip of a week for a total journey of 320kms.
I felt like this was a good start to see if we’d want to do this more (we do) and set us up for success by not going crazy kms every day.
Sadly on the third day, and 130kms in, my knee couldn’t take it anymore and so we have had to stop.
I think my knee problem is due to a injury I had when I was younger, but I would still appreciate help for less joint pain if you got tips.
Regardless, for a budget trip on simple bikes it was fun.

Retro bikes, baskets and cycling around France in the summer! Looks like a great trip

  2. If you are having joint problems riding a bicycle, it’s likely you need to adjust something – a good bike fit at a LBS would probably resolve the problem. We can speculate all day what needs to be adjusted, but having a real person (vs the internet) asses your needs and adjust your bike will be much, much better.

But also, that’s great you went ahead with the trip – you learned a lot and want to do more – so that part is a success! Keep going!
