The “PB 18” appears to be set in Papyrus, a font invented in 1982, and included on both Windows & Mac computers since 2000. So this bike _could_ be as early as 1982, but the font got popular later, so chances seem high that this bike might be closer to twenty years old.

Maybe 1990s, based on under the bottom bracket cable routing, before then it was over the bottom bracket. It’s a big frame meant for someone well over 6′ high. Searching through online catalogs if available may be your best bet to approximately date it.

This is a nice bike for 20$! Peugeot made a lot of junk but they made some really nice stuff too. This looks like reynolds tubing and those nervar cranks are cool! Not bad at all!

no one has mentioned [BikeBoomPeugeot](https://www.bikeboompeugeot.com/) yet? there aren’t a lot of brochures on there for the Canadian market, but it looks similar to an ’86 PH 10LE from the US brochures.
also, the serial number should be on the bottom of the bottom bracket. the first number in it should be the year the frame was made. e.g. Y5C406992 has a 5, so made in 1985 and most likely 1985 model year.

I can’t find much on that model PB18, but that color was used in 1985 on the PH 10LE.
It looks like they went away from the letter/number model names for the most part in 1988. I would guess that bikes falls right in the middle of the 80’s based on the components and styling.
You can check more on this website that has a bunch of brochures and other Peugeot stuff.
I have a quite similar PH10LE (in white) and I love it. It will probably have a Helicomatic Freewheel, which could be a pain down the road to service/ replace, but it’s a cool design nonetheless.
