I got this Trek 950 from the original owner who bought it new in the US in 1993 and brought it over to Germany. It seems hardly used, it even has the original tires and the rims are hardly worn. Unfortunately, the right brifter is broken, the shift lever is broken off, but I already ordered a BR-M560 replacement.

First I thought I’d make a modern conversion – but I think I’m going to make it like new instead. New wear items, so tires, tubes and rim tapes, brake pads, cables and housings, and a new bottom bracket. Then regreasing and adjusting the hubs, and adjusting the derailleurs. Also I’m going to remove the fenders, and will see about the saddle. Also, the hand grips are kind of hardened over time, and might need replacing as well. I don’t think the chain and cogs will need replacing, but let’s see.

What do you think?
