  1. Waiting on delivery of my Winspace SLC 2.0 rim brake frame. Excited! Replacing my very old 2007 rim brake frame. I ain’t doin’ no road disc!

  2. I appreciate this channel, and watch it regularly. And also, I'm NOT in favour of disc brakes. However, I'm not convinced that disc brakes are to blame in this instance. Anyone that has ever raced in wet conditions would know, that some days roads are just slippery as. Because of possibly a combination of oil, dirt and rain water on the road surface. In these conditions, even going slow around a bend or straight could cause the bike sliding out from underneath you without applying any brakes. And this was just one of those days. Happy riding guys 🙂

  3. Yup…..I hit a pot hole while drinking lost control of the front and squeeze the front brake, braked locked up on a bit of gravel, I flew over the handle bar….broke my clavicle in 3 places and a concussion, now I’m looking to go back to rim brake

  4. It‘s true… but maybe we also should talk about bros skipping Juniors and U23 where they can jerk out their „natural“ hormone surplus. Pls send them Natashas OF

  5. Its not disk brakes in this case, there was fresh laid tarmac in this section , wich is very oily and greasy and in combination with water its like waterslide. There are better footaage in YT from side of the road taken how riders going down and sliding on the road like in waterslide and not even touching others. It would happen with any brakes in this section at this speed and with such skinny tyres. In fact modern bikes has better traction, because of wider tyres they use but still, this section in race was exception.

  6. Riders commented front of bunch hit slippery tarmac slammed on the brakes causing peleton to compress hence crash. Suspect rim brake made this reaction less severe in the past. But still fresh wet tarmac is lethal.

  7. They're riding 30mm tyres at 70psi standard to account for the disc brakes, and they still all lock up and nearly all go down. Sure the road was pretty crap, and wet etc, but its not like all the roads in the past were any better.

  8. DR do you have an opinion about ketones?
in G. Thomas’ podcast they mentioned it with Pogacar as a guest on this episode after the Giro

  9. Have been watching pro cycling for 40 years- don't recall seeing crashes like that in the past on such a mundane bit of road. I guess in the past riders had more leeway just to ride to the conditions, now they 're racing everything – speeds are higher and disc brakes easily overcome traction in those conditions.

  10. Riding gravel bikes on road with over 100 guys who’s race resultd determine their salary and career prospects, and their family’s future – surprise, surprise 😂. Gotta ban these disc brakes in road racing asap!

  11. 😂 I just had my second crash, all cut up on my right leg, left knee all scared up from a crash at basically zero km came to a stop over a patch of fish flies ( June bugs) on the ground, embarrassing but okay only my pride was hurt, it was like riding through grease, was on city security cam but footage not release thank god lol😂

  12. just imagine if the top 3/5 riders could not have made it to the tour as a result this shit ….

wont be long before banning car brakes on a bike

  13. looks like they hit that puddle on the left side and hydroplaned… but yeah ill keep riding my old rim brake cervelo… mostly because they look 1000x better than discs.

  14. merely riding through water won't make you fall. they had to have freaked out and grabbed their brakes. so many people who race don't have very good bike handling skills.

  15. As you've said, "disc brakes for the dirt"! Peloton racing down a wet mountain road at 50
+mph in a bunch with disc brakes – Professional Bike Racers? More like Evel Kinevil
