anyway, this is my first bike in years and I’m unsure of a few things.

First, does anyone know what year this bike is or how to find out?

Second, does this bike use standard size pedals? because i purchased the pedals on the bench there in the picture and they’re too small?? the threads don’t screw in. I figured it was all somewhat universal and I don’t know if I purchased one off pedals or if its the bike thats odd.

Third, what tire pressure should the tires be at? I don’t want to explode a tire in my face but I also don’t want to ruin the rims and I haven’t got a clue. there is way more info about tire pressures online than i feel i can sift through.

Fourth, can anyone recommend some decent pedals? i know this bike has good pedals but they’re for special shoes i think and I’m really not interested in getting fancy expensive shoes just to ride my bike. I would prefer something solid and not in your face.

Thanks everyone! Happy biking!
EDIT** thanks for the replies and the help! i super appreciate it 🙂

9 speed Deore LX M570 group came out in 1999. Yours is the basic spec Rockhopper, other models were available with various Answer/Manitou suspension forks.

I really like mks pedals. They’re reasonable priced, well designed and good looking.
