I finally got a bike earlier this year after many years of not riding. I spent a few years traveling around the world by motorcycle but my engine has been apart for the past five years while I’ve been working up the motivation to rebuild it, so I decided to get a bicycle and do some riding around by person power.
I’ve spent the past few months going on short rides and working up to riding longer distances. I had gotten out of shape from working seven days a week for the past 10 months (new high school teacher), but, as soon as the school year finished I was able to get out on the bike more.
This past Friday was perfect weather for a ride and I ended up doing my longest ride so far. I have a bunch of multi-day trips planned starting possibly next summer. I am loving being back on the bike again after so many years of not having one.
