I keep it in the parts bin. Sometimes you can use the outer cable for other bikes and sometimes you can use the inner cable for random stuff.

Aren’t those the only 2 options?

i use the inner cable to poke stuffs(remove debris in holes etc)

Cable goes in trash. Housing goes in “might use” bin.

I keep a piece around, but in general throw it away. On older bikes with rim brakes sometimes a short piece of housing like that is enough for a front brake. Or some bikes that use cable stops only need a handful of short pieces like this.
Having a bit of inner cable hanging around is handy because you can use it to clean things out by poking the soldered end into narrow spaces.
