I picked up a roofing nail in the rear Conti GP5k S on my way home from work on Wednesday … don’t ask me how I didn’t see it before I ran over it – I have no idea. I made it home with a field repair by installing a tube. Later, I applied internal patches and re-mounted it tubeless… it survived a subsequent 18-mile commute but it looks like sidewall was injured by the exit puncture more severely than hoped – so I’m not sure I can trust it in the long term. It looks like I’ll have to spend another $85 for a replacement Conti GP5Ks.
Still, I can’t complain about going over 3k miles (between PFPros, stock Bontrager GR1, and GP5k) before my first flat since getting this bike (2023 Checkpoint SL5).

You should be happy that didn’t damage the wheel as well.
I run 2.8s. I once made it home after riding five miles with a deck screw in my tire. Only downside is that my bike weighs 32 pounds.
