  1. Full marks to your boy for doing 25 miles in those conditions – true grit😬. Meanwhile, further north, a small bunch of us (about 30 I think) were doing the Spires & Steeples Sportive around the Yorkshire Wolds – absolutely taters and a headwind for the return half but good fun in beautiful riding country that doesn't get its due. Spring though? You're havin' a larf!!

  2. 2 things. 1, top work to your lad for managing those miles. I know as an 18 stone lump how miserable I get when the weather is utterly taters; when you're six of nowt and 11, yeah… Here's to many more rides with him though 🙂 And 2, 1.45 hopes after cycling to the event?! I hate him already! 🙈

  3. Peter, great recap, as always. Kudos to Jimmy! A duathlon of sorts. And to your son..great intro! Kudos to him as well. Too bad the weather wasn’t cooperative for your father and son event.
As far as warmer weather…yeah, slowly but surely. We’ve had some spring teasers mixed in with the sub-freezing temps here in Wisconsin. But I haven’t paused my Zwift subscription just yet, lol.

  4. Give your son a massive pat on the back from me, he deserves it 😁 I can't wait for the weather to warm up a bit, went out this morning in light drizzle for a 32 mile ride up into County Durham so there were a few lumpy roads… Thankfully the drizzle stopped after about 3 miles. Thoroughly enjoyed it though, despite the weather.
