Planning a 5-6 day bikepacking trip with gf. and have decided to tweak her bike a bit to make it more comfortable for longer ride.

So got inspired by this, have already ordered 27.5 wheels and 2.1 mezcals, have my old hope x2 mtb breaks and need to choose some riser bars that would have at least 16’ backsweep, significant rise (since the bike came with steerer cut too short (i don’t understand why bike shops do this)).

Any suggestions? Also they would have to be trimmed quite a bit since the rider is 5”6’. Anyone at the same height what width risers do you ride?

Thanks

  1. What do you mean by risers? The cheapest solution to get the existing bars up higher would be a short high rise stem. Search for 35 degree stem. You could go with another drop bar handlebar that has some (15mm) rise like the Ritchey Corralitos though IMO the rise is slightly negated by the wider bar.
