1. In the intro I meant income not revenue.
2. The Rio buildings have been abandoned since 2016 so 8 years, not for over a decade
16:14 umm there's another country which has like 10x the hacking potential and ill intent of all 3 of these combined…. your omission is quite suspect. 🐼🐼🐼
Everytime a Olympic event is held, there will be talk about how its economics wont work. That is because they are moving from city to city building infrastructure. Rather if they should rotate among few cities in each continent so that existing infrastructure is utilised
I hope that the river Seine is clean enough for them to use it in the games, however even if it's not clean enough the city will end up with a cleaner river. This would not have happened without the olympics.
Well i mean they learned, from -2 million, to breaking even, then Tokyo being Tokyo. They made money lol
your data is out of date most hotel prices are plummeting since hotels and airbnbs are struggling to fill their rooms during the games
Bro just ignored the London Olympics lol
Very good video!!!!!!
Haven't watched in years, no plans on starting. Waste of money on all sides.
What do the feminists have to say about an Olympic venue that has a huge phallic symbol overlooking the main stadium? Just asking…………
i don’t think people realise how much of a mess it will be
15:47 Pyongyang or PyeongChang? Two different worlds
I wouldn't swim in a river if I was an athlete. River conditions are totally different than swimming pools. This is unfair.
Madrid already proposed to use existing stadiums and submitted a more climate-friendly bid when climate-friendly wasn't still a thing and cities were fighting to build the largest / newest / most expensive stadium. The bid was famously and controversially rejected.
Mayor Hidalgo was to swim in the river on June 23rd. This video has been released on July 16th.
And you didn't say she swam in the river or not.
Please make better videos. And watch them yourselves before releasing
That clip of the playing garbage collectors 🤣
No sources are mentioned along the video.
Whoever believes that France is powering the grid with wind and solar energy needs to rethink this. Yes, they may probably increase the part of these renewables but most electricity in France is still and will for a long time be nuclear power
Irony the day you post the video, river was clean enough so that Hidalgo (major of Paris) swimmed on it.
5:55 she's swum today 🙂
Te olvidaste de Cristina Kirchner
Anne Hidalgo, the mayor of Paris, just swam in the seine.
Great video ! Thanks for your work !
robotics voice,,, BAD
It's a French company, Atos that takes care of the informatics systems of the Olympics games. And this treat was always there. In Rio there were massive attacks, that nearly. Took the system down, but it was kept secret
You should be aware that wind and solar énergies will increase CO2 emissions instead of diminishing them. Most electricity in France is provided by nuclear and hydraulic. When used, Intermittent energies need to be backed up with coal or gas turbines which deteriorate the overall climate performance. Showing wind turbines, in this case, is green washing.
They can have their Woka-Lympics. I stopped watching when the USWST took a knee for anthem.
As a 2022 Paralympian in alpine skiing and someone who has always loved the Games as a whole I really appreciate videos like this highlighting the logistics and preparation of the games themselves. I believe the Olympics and Paralympics are an extremely important event for all of us to bring the world together, and even though they can have major costs and be an inconvenience to some, I hope these games in Paris are a major success that will help spur the Olympic spirit onward.
She did have the swim. It happened yesterday, I think.
Man I'm french and the Olympics preparations are going so fucking badly you have no idea praising our government for handling this is delusional
For example there's this delusional idea of cleaning the river going through Paris aka la Seine which is absolutely unswimmable by most every swimming associations standards for water quality, and it's still terrible on 99% of its surface in Paris and not even quite swimmable according to 3rd parties tests where officials recently swam to prove it's supposedly clean
Also the city traffic is absolutely fucked due to zones shutdowned unless you got a qr code and even the cops are confused
TWO USB keys containing confidential plans about some stuff to prepare the event have been "lost"
And there's so much more I could go on
In this case, most, if not all of the investments made for the Olympics will stay in place for a better Paris. Quite nice, except for the lack of AC in the middle of the summer in the accommodation, so many countries said they will bring mobile ACs – I do hope the electric grid can cope with all that extra power that was not in the plans.
River parade is a great idea 💡 🎉 gives more people the opportunity to be part of olympics. 🏟🤸🏞
So France is doing what my mom would scramble to do whenever she knew guests would be visiting the house
Energy from solar and wind in cloudy Europe… If there is one thing Europeans are good at, it is greenwashing. France is big on nuclear power, which is technically carbon neutral.
A bit more editing out of AI material needed, but overall a good solid take.
10 000 athelts in 90 Boats?? LOL ..come on
Oh, by the way, Line 11 doesn't go to Saint-Denis Pleyel, it's also line 14.
It goes to Rosny Sous Bois, in the east of Paris 🙂
"minimising its environmental impact"
one line later…
"and hosting events as far as French Polynesia"
So you're telling me NO ONE sees the very obvious contradiction here?
Beware of the Paris syndrome
Every huge sport event is an environmental disaster. The Paris Olympics are no exception. Carine about emissions do not making greens, especially with the millions visitors coming by plane. THIS is the most of the impact. Reducing the rest is not pointless, but it is very little. No one wants more tourists, coming from the other end of the world when we want to reduce emissions. It is also a social disaster, with parisians leaving Paris, students forcibly expelled from their accomodations. The city will be unliveable during the olympics, and I’m not even talking about the obvious infringements on individual liberties implied by the restrictions on whole parts of the city. 10 billion euros could have fixed a lot of problems in France. The Olympics are an outdated event that needs to change the way it exists to exist sustainably
LA did this approach first in the '84. Paris isn't reinventing anything
At 7:41 you're showing images of Barcelona not Paris
The poor ratings of the Tokyo Olympics in the US was also due to the time difference which was not at all favorable as most of Japan daytime occurs during the American night: 4PM in Tokyo is 3 AM in NYC or 6 AM in LA.
reinventing? LA 84 did it already and saved olympics.
Marathon swimming has already been moved somewhere else
