Trying to get this Barb in, tried a cheapo tool, the park tool one and they all slip on the brake hose.
Don’t want to clamp crazy hard so I crush the hose.
Any ideas?

Solved, had to cut off the end, still enough hose if needed in the future

Use the plastic blocks that come with Shimano brakes for holding the hose. Clamp them in vise grips. Tap the barb in with a hammer.
The blocks hold the hose solidly without so much pressure as to deform the tube, and with the vise grips you can hold it solidly in one hand while tapping the barb with the hammer.
(Blocks in a bench vise also work, but can be fiddly/hard with a hose going through a frame like that.)
