  1. ReasonPleasant437 on

Weird that my text disappeared but I’ll put it in a comment. Size Large SLX Di2. Built up out of the box by Revolution Cycles in Solana Beach, Ca. Replaced the springy seatpost with Easton EC 70 Carbon. Replaced the 34 cassette with a 36. Been riding flats for a year or more since my 64 year old knees with multiple surgeries haven’t been getting along with clipless pedals. I started with the Looks in 1984 and had just about everything in between so familiar with all the options. Replacing the 32c tires with Continental Grand Prix 5000 AS TR Road Tire 700 x 35mm – Black/Reflex which I have but have not put on yet. Once I am sure everything is good with the bike I’ll get carbon wheels. Thinking either Roval CL’s or one of the Reserve wheels and then set it up as tubeless. Can get the Rovals 20% off veterans discount but there are some thgins about the Reserves that I think I like better. Bar set at maximum width. Wasn’t sure about fit of the integrated bar but it seems fine in height, length, and width. I like a 44 and this goes to 43, my fit guy says I need a 46 but it’s been awhile since I did that. It did feel good though. I’m 6’3″ but with a short inseam so I’ve been a weird fit for a long time since I started riding nice road bikes in the early 80’s. I had a CF 7 and a Roubaix and this is replacing both. The frame on this feels stiffer and just better in other ways over the CF 7 that I can’t quite put my finger on. Maybe it’s placebo but I’m good with that too 🙂 I am a big guy so sensitive to getting stiff frames, wide tires and big pedals since I’m a 14 wide shoe. SPD’s don’t work for me for that reason. If anyone warns the springy seatpost (Canyon S15 VCLS 2.0 CF) I’ll make you a good deal. I live in Del Mar, Ca.

  2. Nice bike. I just purchased the same. Maybe I’ll see you riding the Coast Hwy some time.
