      My art teacher actually narrowly avoided becoming a victim of Dennis Nilsen, he and a friend were walking back from school one day and it was heavily raining, so they took cover under a random person’s porch. I’m not sure if he or a woman came to the door, but they were invited in for a cup of tea. There was 2 women and 1 man, and they got a very weird feeling when they came into the house, so they politely declined and went straight home together. A year or so later, they found out about the murders, and it became a dare amongst the kids to run up to his house and touch the drain outside where he dumped all the blood and bodily fluids. If those women weren’t there that day I don’t think he would’ve made it home. My old therapist also grew up on the same street as Graham Young (they were about the same age) but I’m not sure they ever interacted beyond polite small talk. Eerie stuff

      I had friends who were literally neighbours to Hardy and posted on myspace (no facebook back then) that they were blocked into this flat due to the police tape and such when they found him and were investigating his flat. A friend also lived almost exactly opposite to Nielson and my family home is only about 15 mins away from Muswell Hill where Nielson took all his victims.

      With Dennis nilsen his house/ flat is now rented to tourists who are unaware of what happened there, it’s kind of creepy to drive past and think of what happened in that house – especially as he soul stuff victims in this chest and take them out to watch TV together super creepy

      i remember many years ago hearing about Timothy Evans case
      terrible he not only lost and to be wrongfully accused of murdering his wife(Beryl) and infant daughter(Geraldine) but also executed for it

      Hundreds of murders have been committed by dangerous criminals on probation who weren't being monitored properly after being released from prison in England and Wales. Campaigners have warned that the Conservative government's attempts to run the probation service "on the cheap" have put the public at risk in recent years after disastrous reforms that led to private companies failing to check up on prisoners properly. In some instances, criminals were being monitored with a monthly phone call.

      Two-thirds of those released from prison are re-arrested within three years. This incarceration cycle hurts families and communities—and also costs a lot of money. Governments and nonprofits have tried many programs to reduce recidivism, but most are not successful.
