I currently use a road bike and looking at getting into doing some mountain biking. Saw this Canyon Stoic 3 on sale for $1,099 and wondering if it would be a good starter mountain bike.
Been lurking here for a while and have read mostly decent reviews. I am in the Midwest so won’t be on anything too crazy, probably do some minimal jumps but I am in my 40s so again nothing crazy so mostly easy to moderate trails.
Anything other than the stoic in the $1000 range plus or minus a few hundred that would be recommended?

Doesn’t get much better under a grand.
Go for it. I just recommended the same bike to a close friend – it’s a great deal.
Don’t love some of the spec choices but realistically it’s a great buy at that price, I doubt you’ll find much better
