Absolutely not. Definitely wouldn’t buy that bike if I was training for triathlons. That’s some geriatric’s bike.
Your budget of $500 could get you a very good used road bike with at least 105 groupset. Old road bikes are great for triathlons, they’re fast and cheap. It can be a bit difficult finding your size but you can easily get a much better road bike for your budget. I bought a 2009 Cannondale Six Carbon 5 for $350 in 2022. Carbon frameset, Ultegra/105 groupset.
I would highly recommend looking for Cannondale CAAD bikes. Highly regarded and affordable. If you can find an old Cannondale, Trek, or Specialized CF road bike, those would be a steal. Just make sure any older carbon bikes are extensively checked for damage. The carbon will last for decades when well kept. Pinkbike is a great resource for pricing and finding bikes. Make sure you have a proper understanding of how a bike should fit you as well.
