I've been getting back into cycling lately, and I noticed that I was too big for my old bike, so my father recently gave me his bike, he hasn't ridden in a while and he decided it wasn't doing him any good keeping it around doing nothing.
I took it out for the first ride last night, and all through the frame I felt this vibration, almost like a rubbing when pedaling in certain gears. The bike has a 2×9 Campagnolo Veloce groupset on it, but it has Shimano Ultegra hubs.
Everything I've read about different group sets suggests that this should not work. Would it be easier to just switch over to a campagnolo cassette or do I need to use a campagnolo hub too? and if so, how hard is it to change a hub out? should I leave that for a professional shop to do?

Ultegra hub? Or did you mean the cassette? The hub is the bit holding the axle. The cassette is the bit with the sprockets. A cassette goes onto the hub.
However. Is it a cassette or a freewheel? A cassette slides onto the freehub and the ratcheting mechanism is inside the freehub. If that’s the case, then the freehub needs to take the appropriate cassette. Shimano and Campagnolo have different splines so you can’t just swap them out like that, you need the correct hub/splines. If it’s a freewheel, that one has the whole assembly and just screws onto the hub (not freehub).
