right we’re just on the start from sawby bridge two lane lock of the rdale canal just testing out the gear for the Manchester run on the 27th just had the bike service at the local ebike shop thank you David uh doing a great job and now we’re just going to set off and have a quick run out probably probably to L for and back just before we go to work tonight so without further Ado what’s the video nice stroll on to s from sby bridge to Ling for let go under the bridge here be a bit bumpy at the moment the Canal’s quite quiet it’s uh 13:35 in the afternoon like I said we’re not doing a massive run let’s watch out for these Walkers here thank you we quite happily moved out the way for you I slowed down nice and polite just plenty of users on the canal and cyclist just because you’re a cyclist doesn’t give you priority the priority is given to the pedestrians average speed would probably be about the maximum of8 8 9 miles hour at the moment because I’ve got a an ebike it’s got a bit of more power and it’s between 10 and 11 so we’re not we’re not too fast lovely views yeah so uh me and free mates are going to do a run 32 mi from sawby bridge to Manchester on the Rochdale Canal I just testing the Mig GoPro the audio which of uh thank you to David at a cycle fast repair shop e EB ebik repair shop uh in sby Bridge he’s lent me his audio equipment for the GoPro um I highly recommend CYO fast Dave does a beautiful job [Music] now we’re just going to go under the the tunnel here slow down cuz there might be people coming through and it’s always a good idea to put your light on and then we get off this motorcycle [Music] here there we are this tunnel is uh the first one you come to from True Lan lock I think they call it Daisy tunnel I’m not I’m not 100% sure but some people ride through but you don’t know what’s coming over way so he’s better off to get off and just push it slowly through there we are they’re at the end of it now back on the bike and we’re off now what I say Dave’s done a brilliant service on the bike uh the steering bearing was a bit loose he’s doing a brilliant service and this is just a test run let’s see how it is it’s not half as bouncy as what it was before the repairs it rattled a bit now there’s hardly a rattle on it nice and stir again thank you [Music] Dave I do a lot of canal rooms I even commute to work uh from some bridge toats on the C Eble which starts at the navigation in s Bridge up until uh when I get off at shter Rebel and if you want to go further you can go on the Route 66 cycle Route 66 will’ll take you a bit further um you can stay on the canal that way from um the navigation you can stay on the canal to uh Brig house Ellen there’s another Bridge here just be careful there we are come on you’re all right I’m not a mad cyclist I don’t go right rushing through you know what I mean hear it come on mag Maggie come on doing a good job there lad thank you come on mag thank you couple of people from the called the canal and River trust there they’re just doing a bit of litter [Music] picking always watch out on the bridges I tend to Dismount most of them um be nice and polite to people sometimes it’s best to give him a toot on your bell or your hor whatever you’ve got on your bike just give him a couple of toes just warn him that you’re coming you might get the hard jogger too uh they’re a bit like cyclists any the way some you know some cyclists don’t bother toting their owns uh joggers just carry on jogging one is uh because they’ve got headphones in if they’re going the other way and you’re at back of them they’ve got headphones in they don’t they’re not aware of you coming so just be careful two just want to carry on with the jogging and they do move to side and it’s always nice to say thank you another obstacle to get over is uh dogs off leads dog walkers don’t expect to to get past them in a hurry just slow down there’s a gentleman come up here we’ll just give him a to thank you it’s nice to say thank you see there we are there’s a sign saying cyclist Dismount which is another Bridge there’s nobody coming through but there a change me Bell a bit better there we are give it a to just to warn him see that juger then he heard me on and he looked back he knows I’m coming nice little cafe down there called a secret coffe Cafe nice cheers Paul thank you he’s a you’re asking for a lift then yeah so uh me and free friends are going to Manchester as I mentioned before by the rdale canal getting off at Dean’s gate 5 minutes down the road we’ve got an Airbnb storage bikes in during the day then we’ll go for a couple of drinks and uh look around Manchester then uh one’s night out then we come back the next morning that’ll be one of my videos as well uh I’ll I’ll try my best to video all the run for you I have uh tried me bik out tried the battery power out and uh I got as far as a summit and that were all right and then then uh done that twice Sumit in littleb which is the highest point between littleb uh between yeah between Yorkshire and Lancashire that’s it iest Summit now we’re coming towards London and foot pretty quiet for this time of the day normally people walk home from work on this route man you it’s only qu to two so probably busy later on the terrain because it’s been raining in the previous days it is a bit boggy there is a few [Music] puddles you can’t beat a canal ride I’d go further today but I’m I’m uh I’m due at work at half 6 tonight so I’d have a I’d have a bigger run out like edbridge or tomen i’ I’d have a bigger run out but I’ll have to do that on my days off it’s just a test run cuz the bike’s been in shop since Monday and uh I was only able to collect it today because I’ve just finished my day shift so now I’m on my night shifts [Music] couple of people here slow down cuz they’ve got some doggies with them
