Hello everyone. The headset of my new bike gives me no peace. It's a Cane Creek 40 ZS44-EC44 headset, like the one in the photo , the first problem I had was the insertion of the crown race, when I started to mount it on the fork it stuck halfway without being able to hit the fork head but without even being able to remove it anymore, after cutting it with surgical precision to avoid damaging the fork I managed to remove it.

I therefore bought another new original crown race and, following numerous advice on the web, I decided to split it by making a small cut, which according to many should not influence the behavior of the headset at all, greatly facilitating assembly.

Headset mounted and the result is that it turns like shit, it's quite hard and not very fluid, has anyone had similar problems and knows how to solve it? Is it perhaps an adjustment problem? Let me start by saying that I have already mounted other headsets in my life but none have ever given me problems.

Thank you
