Hey. Just received my new canyon endurace AL 7, and what a beautiful machine. Unfortunately after putting it together, I noticed that the front derailleur isn’t functioning. Mailed Canyon with a video of the gearshifter, and they told me that’s it’s just a loose cable and that it’s pretty normal. They’ve offered me to cover the costs of taking it to a local bike mechanic to get it tightened, which seems like a good solution. Has anything like this ever happened to any of you guys, and is this something I should be worried about in the future (Concerned that the bike just isn’t manufactured too well).

Bicycles, like most other things, require regular maintenance. That is not a sign of bad quality, it’s just a fact of life.

  2. I’ll repeat this again and again.

Contrary to what Canyon claims it’s best that your bike is reassembled by your local bike shops. Canyon assembly quality is mixed bag unfortunately
