As of right now the front derailler shifter, the ST-m020, isn’t doing it’s job. There’s [a lot out there on fixing them.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgENX9Jv_-g) If the WD-40 bath or dissassembly doesn’t work we’ll get into the parts bin but I want to try and make them work.
The tires are dry rotted which I am personally thrilled about because who doesn’t love new shoes? I’m gonna try and home brew the rims for tubeless and throw some [Volummy’s](https://www.sim.works/products/volummy) on ‘er.
Besides that I have some parts bin pieces laid out to throw on for now. Can’t wait to see where this thing goes.

This is dope – I wish I could go find deals like that right now, but I’m in a holding pattern until we get a new house. No space for new projects

Owned one. Found it left on a curb in 2015. Cleaned it up, new chain/cassette, new cables and tires. Rode it til 2019. Gave it to a migrant worker who needed a bike. He rode it til 2023, and gave it to another migrant worker.
The damn thing won’t die. When Mongoose made a bike. 1990 model.

I think it’s a [1990](http://www.mountainbikecatalogue.com/mongoose/1990-1999/1990/hill-topper.html) at least. The components aren’t catalog specific but they are age appropriate and the complete lack of wear makes me think they are original. I did change the saddle though.
