What is it with Reddit that you can’t have both pictures AND text with your post?!?!?!
I’ve been working on this build for almost a year, but I finally got it finished! It’s a VAAST A/1 “Super Mag” magnesium frame with the following components:
* SRAM Force 22 Hydraulic Disc groupset setup as a 1X with a 46T narrow-wide chain ring
* Hunt carbon 650b wheelset with Schwalbe G-One tires
* Generic carbon seat post and bars from Amazon
* Ritchey adjustable stem
* Selle Italia Evo-something saddle
* Speedplay pedals
Once I got it together, I took it by a LBS to have them “check my work”. It rides great now!

Trying to figure out how the tops could possibly be comfortable. I guess if you don’t ever wrap your thumbs around them ? Or maybe you never use the tops as a hand hold at all ?
I’ll never understand aero bars on fat tire gravel bikes, but I also don’t understand ketchup on hotdogs so what do I know ? lol.

That’s a really narrow gear ratio, especially with the 46t chainring…Is your riding mostly on flat terrain?

Immediate thought – this seems more like a comfortable endurance bike then a gravel bike.
1. You have 46T paired with what seems like a road cassette. That’s not going to climb anything steep unless you have gigawatts coming out of those legs.
2. You have an aero bar with some pretty thick tape (at least from pics) which would hasten hand fatigue when you’re blasting down descents or climbing. Paradoxically, you generally want thinner tape and bars when you’re holding for an extended period of time.
3. Those tires are basically fat road tires. Very comfortable on asphalt or fine gravel but they aren’t going to hold on to loose terrain. Given point 1, I’m guessing you’re in a relatively flat area? (in which case, the choices make sense)
4. Color combination looks great, and overall the bike looks sleek. A+ in the looks department.
