I’ve had a few come into the shop with very, very light grease on them. Not tacky at all, almost dry feeling. I had KMC confirm these chains were not counterfeit so I wouldn’t be worried

For one, Amazon.
Two, KMC has a spotting counterfeit guide, the symmetrical X is another giveaway that it’s a fake

Do you have have the packaging it came in? The M in KMC should have a sharp point. If rounded or cut off, fake.

YBN is the only company I’m aware of that ships their chains unlubricated. unlikely to be KMC
here’s a good way to know if it’s fake: if you bought it from amazon or ali express
