Leaving tomorrow after work for my first bikepacking mission.

Chasing down a fishing spot I've heard rumors of, and have spent all spring/summer narrowing it down, finding routes, and planning.

The time has come. All camping gear, bike gear, and most of my food is on the bike. Backpack has fly rod, net, fishing gear, a few layers, and misc. stuff.

It's not the prettiest, most tidy setup, but we'll see how it goes.

As long as you have a decent gear ratio for a single speed/ fixed gear bike for your terrain, you can have a very low maintenance and reliable drive train that just stays out of the way of the riding.

Down the road you can get strap on bottle cages, or things like the Velo Orange Mojave Nalgene bottle cage, or some “anything cages” to help secure odd loads to your downtube or similar. A soft roll type handlebar bag is also a great thing to get eventually, same with a top tube bag or feed bag.
