I have a Kent Flexor 29in Dual Suspension bike (from walmart) that I mainly use on paved paths. I have a problem with the suspension and have no clue how to fix it. The bike shop wants to charge more than the bike is worth ($120) to take a look at it. Any recommendations or suggestions on how to fix it?

Not fixable. Your fork is literally coming apart and most likely unsafe to ride.
New fork time. Preferably rigid: cheap, light and sturdy.
Bike was built to do one thing and that was be purchased. All done, no more.

That fork is toast. Time for a new one.
