Scott Addict 2022 – Worth $2500?

The bike is about $3600 new, so it’s a pretty good price but not a steal (seller is kidding themselves with the $3000 they are slashing from, I assume it is being sold as 2nd hand). The frame is for a very tall person, so make sure that’s right for you. You would want to be well over 6 feet tall. Also I would want to see the drivetrain side of the bike to check for wear and tear. Also why are they selling an alleged “brand new never been ridden” 2 year old bike? Looking at the drivetrain would tell you whether they are lying about this. Are they a private seller or a shop?

However for a similar price you can get a brand new Merida Scultura 4000 from 99 Bikes. Similar specs (but 105 groupset instead of Ultegra, most people won’t notice the difference) but as a new bike you would get a warranty. I could imagine if you search hard for $2500 you ought be able to buy a similar age bike with Di2, as this Scott is mechanical shifting. Although the R8050 is a nice groupset, my “spare” bike has R8000 which is the same groupset but for rim brakes.

Check the geometry and see if you can test ride. I bought one a bit more impulsively and realized the internal routing with the stem was not great. The stem length I needed were sold out worldwide, and to swap stems I needed to trim / bleed the hydraulic brakes. No thanks
